- The transitional Syrian president, Ahmad al-Shara, arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday, in a visit for which the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" did not announce the details of the agenda. He was received upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport by the Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary of the Region, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayaf, and the advisor at the Royal Court, Khalid bin Farid Hadhrawi, according to "SPA."

He was also welcomed by the Saudi Ambassador to Syria, Ghazi bin Rafea Al-Anzi, the Chargé d'Affaires and Head of the Arab Republic of Syria's mission to the Kingdom, Minister Plenipotentiary Mohsen Mhabash, the Acting Director of Police for the Riyadh Region, Major General Mansour bin Nasser Al-Otaibi, and the Royal Protocol Officer, Fahd Al-Suhail. "SPA" did not provide details regarding the duration of the visit or the Saudi officials that al-Shara is expected to meet during his time in Riyadh.
