Four Palestinian Children Victims of Internal Violence in Gaza

Security and medical sources reported that four Palestinian children, including three children of a Palestinian intelligence officer and their driver, were killed by unknown gunmen in the Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City.

The children of the Palestinian intelligence officer, advisor Baha Balousha, who is responsible for coordination with the security agencies in the Palestinian General Intelligence, were killed while heading to their school with their driver this morning, while a fourth child was killed as a passerby on his way to school.

The sources indicated that several schoolchildren and adults on the road were injured, some of them seriously, during the attack.

Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza reported that unknown attackers in three cars blocked the road in front of the victims' vehicle before unleashing a heavy barrage of gunfire at them and then fleeing the scene.

Advisor Baha Balousha was not present at the location at the time of the attack, which came two days after another attack against the convoy of Palestinian Interior Minister Said Siam, which did not result in casualties and ended with the arrest of the attackers, according to Palestinian official sources.

The Gaza Strip has witnessed, especially in recent months, a series of clashes and shooting incidents in which a number of Palestinians were killed as part of the prevailing security chaos.
