The Saudi national team clarified that the player's exclusion was based on the medical report of the results of the medical examinations he underwent on the site of his thigh injury, which indicated his unfitness and need for a therapeutic and rehabilitation program.

The "Green" team lost the services of Hassan Kadsh just days after the exclusion of goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi due to an injury to his elbow. Additionally, Salem Al-Dosari and Saud Abdulhamid were absent from the Saudi national team list announced before the start of "Gulf 27" due to injury.

The "Green" team qualified for the semi-finals after achieving two consecutive victories against Kuwait and Oman, placing first with a total of 6 points.
