Israel Cancels Accreditation of Dutch Diplomats in Ramallah and Ends Their Immunity Within 7 Days

Tel Aviv - Ofaq News - Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sa'ar informed the Dutch embassy in Israel of a decision to revoke the accreditation of several Dutch diplomats working in Ramallah, giving them a seven-day deadline to return the diplomatic documents issued to them by the Israeli authorities.

According to the Israeli decision, the privileges, immunities, and rights granted by Israel to these diplomats by virtue of their diplomatic status will end upon the expiration of the deadline, as reported by Israeli media sources.

The decision comes in light of the measures taken by the Netherlands against products from Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The Dutch measures came into effect on September 22, and include a ban on the import, purchase, and sale of settlement products within the Dutch market.

The Dutch government had approved the measure as it aims to prevent Dutch economic activities from contributing to a situation considered contrary to international law, while Israel rejected the step and deemed it part of a series of Dutch measures against it.
