Hebron - Ofoq News - The so-called "Civil Administration" of the Israeli occupation notified of the final demolition of three residential caves, sheep pens, health units and their facilities in Khirbet Maghayir Al-Ubaid in Musafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
Osama Makhamreh, a documenter of violations in Masafer Yatta, reported that the demolition notices included facilities owned by citizens Shehada Salama Makhamreh, Salah Shehadeh Makhamreh, and Musleh Shehadeh Makhamreh.
He explained that the caves and residential facilities at risk of demolition house more than 20 individuals, which threatens their displacement if the demolition decisions are implemented.
These notices come as the occupation authorities continue to target Palestinian homes and facilities in Masafer Yatta, which include homes, residential caves, sheep barns, and agricultural facilities, at a time when Al-Kharb residents depend on grazing, livestock raising, and agriculture as their primary sources of livelihood.
Khirbet Maghayir al-Ubaid is one of the ruins of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. Its residents depend mainly on grazing, agriculture, and livestock raising, with a long history of using caves, dwellings, and barns in the area.
Over the past years, Al-Khirbet has been subjected to repeated demolitions and attacks. In August 2020, the occupation forces demolished a residential tent belonging to citizen Salah Shehadeh Salama Makhamreh in Maghayir Al-Ubaid.
Residents of Khirbet were also subjected to attacks by settlers, including an attack in April 2024 during which settlers forced residents of the Makhamra family to evacuate their homes at gunpoint.
Maghayir al-Ubaid is located within the broader area of Masafer Yatta, whose Palestinian communities face the dangers of demolition, eviction, and displacement, as the United Nations indicates that the Israeli authorities issued demolition and stop-work orders years ago that affected homes, livestock pens, water tanks, and infrastructure in the area.
