The League of Arab States condemned, in the strongest terms, the attacks that targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the Shaybah oil field in Saudi Arabia, warning of the repercussions of targeting civilian and vital installations on regional security and stability.
In a statement on Friday, the university affirmed its rejection of the continued Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, considering that they represent a violation, as well as endangering the safety of citizens and residents.
It also stressed that the repeated targeting of airports, oil and civilian facilities represents an extremely dangerous escalation, as it poses a threat to the safety of civil aviation and energy security, and undermines regional and international efforts aimed at reducing tension and reaching a political settlement of the Yemeni crisis.
It renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures it is taking to protect its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of collective Arab security.
The university called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop the attacks and prevent their recurrence, expressing its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
Arab and international condemnations of the attack launched by the Houthi militia on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which resulted in the death of two people and the injury of others, have continued since yesterday, Thursday, with affirmations of solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for the measures it is taking to maintain its security and stability.
Kuwait, the Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain expressed their condemnation of the attack, affirming their refusal to target airports and civilian and vital installations, as it represents a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to the security of civilians and the safety of air navigation. The four countries stressed their full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and their support for it in enhancing its security and stability.
In the same context, Egypt, Jordan, and Yemen condemned the attack, and affirmed their solidarity with the Kingdom in the face of the attacks targeting its lands and civil and economic facilities.
Cairo also stressed its rejection of practices that fuel tension and threaten the stability of the region, while Jordan described the terrorist attack as a violation of international law.
In turn, the Yemeni government renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all the steps it takes to protect its security and capabilities.
For his part, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that the continued Houthi attacks on civilian targets in Saudi Arabia are unacceptable, warning that the escalation of Houthi hostilities in Yemen exacerbates the suffering of civilians and increases regional tensions.
India, in turn, condemned the attacks that targeted the civilian infrastructure and energy sector in Saudi Arabia.
In parallel, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and the Muslim World League condemned the Houthi attacks, affirming their full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the measures it is taking to enhance its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
