The Lebanese Army Announces the Dismantling of an "Israeli Spy Device" in the South of the Country

- The Lebanese army announced on Monday that it had discovered an Israeli spying device and dismantled it during engineering survey operations in the southern regions. The army's statement mentioned that "as part of the ongoing engineering survey operations in the southern areas amid continued Israeli aggressions, a specialized military unit found a spying device belonging to the Israeli occupation, equipped with a solar power system, in the Wadi Zbeqin – Tyre and worked on dismantling it.",

The Lebanese army urged citizens to stay away from suspicious objects and not to touch them, and to report them to the nearest military center. The Lebanese government signed a framework agreement with Israel in Washington, D.C., under the sponsorship and mediation of the United States, in June 2026, concerning the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon along with the disarmament of Hezbollah and armed groups and their handover to the army.
