Ramallah - Ofok News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the escalation of crimes by the occupation and settlers against Palestinian farmers in various parts of the occupied West Bank, the latest of which was the attack on farmers while they were harvesting olives in their lands in the towns of Burqa and Ramin, which resulted in the martyrdom of citizen Ali Hassan Yaser Al-Bazari (44 years old), and the injury of more than 20 citizens, including those with serious injuries from live bullets.
The ministry confirmed, in a statement today, Wednesday, that the systematic targeting of unarmed Palestinian civilians and farmers during the olive harvest season, assaulting them with live bullets and beatings, preventing them from accessing their lands and harvesting their crops, in addition to attacking Palestinian ambulance crews while trying to reach the injured and transport them, detaining three paramedics and a volunteer, seizing the keys of the ambulances, and forcing their crews to leave the area, constitutes complete war crimes and a dangerous escalation of the occupation's aggression in the occupied West Bank.
The ministry warned of the dangers of the continuation of these crimes and the escalation of attacks by the occupation and settlers against our people, their properties, and their agricultural lands, especially during the olive harvest season.
It called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop its crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable at all levels, as well as those who provide them protection or incite the commission of crimes against the Palestinian people.
It also called for practical and deterrent measures to stop the settlement system and settler terrorism, and to ensure the right of Palestinian farmers to access their lands and protect them, leading to the end of the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem.
