Ramallah - Ofoq News - The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine described the incursions that took place in the city of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, which affected the area and a number of national institutions, in light of heavy gunfire and the terrorizing of residents with gas bombs. It constitutes the other side of what is taking place in the Gaza Strip in terms of open war, within the framework of a colonial strategy with clear goals, to seize land and deport the population, undermine the foundations of the Palestinian national project, and promote the project of the “Greater Israel” state.
The Democratic Front said: This Israeli escalation, with its fascist manifestations, continues, benefiting mainly from the absence of a national strategy, to defend the people and the land, and avert danger to the residents’ interests, property, and livelihood, and their right to live in safety, under an authority whose slogan is “one authority, one law, one weapon.”
The Democratic Front added: The open Israeli war proves, time after time, the state of impotence that the Palestinian political system suffers from, and its failure to assume its national responsibilities, including unifying the national situation, rebuilding inclusive national institutions, renewing the structures of the political system, hardening its will, providing political cover for the popular movement, strengthening its field unity, and supplying it with elements of political and material power.
In this context, the Democratic Front stressed that postponing the elections, which were supposed to constitute a gateway to ending the division and rebuilding unifying national institutions, on the foundations of partnership and democracy, missed our people’s historic opportunity to rebuild their political system and unify their political forces, and contributed to extending the state of impotence, lack of will, and continuing to bet on illusion, similar to betting on the international community, especially the United States, at a time when the facts confirm the extent of the widening circle of American bias towards Israel, including in the Gaza Strip, from While Trump’s peace council ignored the daily Israeli massacres, or in the West Bank, through collusion with colonial expansion, annexation, and deportation projects, or in Jerusalem, by recognizing it as the capital of Israel, and remaining silent about the Judaization activities active there, especially the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and transforming its courtyards into a hotbed for Talmudic prayers.
It stressed its position calling for retracting the decision to postpone the elections, and going to a comprehensive national dialogue that removes the pretexts and obstacles to the democratic process, and provides the tools and methods necessary to transform the general elections for the Legislative and National Councils and the presidency into a comprehensive national battle, which falls within the framework of the battles for salvation from the occupation.
