The American President Publishes a Map of Hormuz Named "Trump Strait" with the Absence of Qatar and Bahrain

- The American President, Donald Trump, on Saturday, published a map of the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz, which he named "Trump Strait." The American President shared a picture of the map of the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz on his official account on his platform "Truth Social" on Saturday, and called it "Trump Strait."

In the map, Trump drew a circle around the Strait of Hormuz, which included the islands located within the strait, and also included the coasts of Iran and the coasts of the United Arab Emirates. The map showed the Gulf countries except for Qatar and Bahrain. The American President referred to the Strait of Hormuz as "Trump Strait" during his speech at the Foreign Investment Institute's priorities summit in Florida last March.

He told the audience: "They should open it, they should open Trump Strait. I mean the Strait of Hormuz," and added jokingly: "Sorry, I’m very sorry, what a huge mistake, the fake news media will claim that I said that by mistake, no, I don’t make mistakes."

Later, the American President suggested changing the name of the Strait of Hormuz to "Trump Strait," after he reiterated that the vital waterway is now under the control of the United States. Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Now that the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the United States, should we change its name to Trump Strait?"

In subsequent statements, Trump said he intends to declare "the Strait of Hormuz as part of American territory after we defeat Iran," indicating that this would happen "very soon." Trump added before a crowd at an event in Nassau County, New York: "We are imposing the blockade; no ships pass unless we want them to."

Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi responded to Trump's statement about his intention to declare "the Strait of Hormuz as part of American territory." Gharib Abadi stated in a statement: "The Strait of Hormuz cannot be seized by a tweet, or an aircraft carrier, or an executive order, or an election speech. Iran is not afraid of threats nor intimidated by displays of power."
