Astronomy expert Dr. Khaled Al-Zaaq revealed that the seasonal season has entered today, Monday, October 12, 2026, marking a stage of weather changes in Saudi Arabia, during which temperatures are heading towards moderation, and humidity levels are decreasing in coastal areas, describing the next 75 days as among the best days of the year.

Al-Zaaq explained, in a video clip, that Sunday witnessed the last day of the Suhail season, while the season begins on Monday, noting that its mathematical duration is 52 days, while its seasonal effects extend to about three months.

He added that this period witnesses noticeable fluctuations in temperature and atmosphere, to the point that a person may experience what resembles four seasons in one day.

Al-Zaaq stated that the marking season includes the last twenty days of Suhail and the first twenty days of Al-Murabbaniyah, pointing out that the rains that fall during it are heralds of a prosperous spring season.

Regarding the origin of the name, he explained that the Arabs used to place distinctive marks on their camels, known as branding, to identify them when they mixed with other camels, while the name was also linked to the seasonal rains that leave their mark on the ground with the appearance of the plant.

In conjunction with the entry of the mark, the National Center of Meteorology expected moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which may lead to torrential rains, accompanied by hail showers and active winds stirring dust and dust, in parts of the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Medina, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and the northern borders.

Light to moderate rain is likely to fall in the southern parts of the Riyadh and Sharqiya regions, and parts of the Najran region.

The Center did not rule out the formation of fog during the night and early morning hours on parts of the coasts of the Tabuk, Medina, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the Eastern Province regions.
