Sheikh Meets Activities of Tulkarem Governorate

Ramallah - Afaq News - The Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, met yesterday, Saturday, with institutions and activities of Tulkarem Governorate to discuss the political, national, and field conditions in the governorate, the challenges facing our people, and ways to enhance their resilience and support their needs in light of the exceptional circumstances the governorate and its camps are experiencing.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in the governorate, Iyad Jarad, members of the Revolutionary Council of the movement, Ammar Mardhi, Luay Al-Mansi, and Amin Salahat, members of the Revolutionary Council from the governorate, Moyad Shaaban and Issam Al-Qassem, mayors and members of local councils, a number of regional members in the governorate, heads of local councils, heads of popular committees for the services of the governorate's camps, and a number of cadres from the Fatah Movement and its organizational office, as well as members of the youth secretariat of Fatah and labor unions.

During the meeting, the general conditions in Tulkarem Governorate were discussed, along with the political, field, economic, and social challenges facing the residents of the governorate in light of the ongoing occupation measures and continuous assaults, and the repercussions they have left on the lives of citizens and various sectors and institutions.

Sheikh emphasized the necessity of enhancing the resilience of the residents of the governorate in facing the exceptional circumstances they are experiencing, stressing the importance of integration among the various components of the governorate, both official and organizational, and working in a spirit of national responsibility to address priority issues and needs.

The meeting also discussed the conditions of the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, and the challenges faced by the residents of the camps due to forced displacement and the destruction that has affected properties and infrastructure, as well as the need to continue providing the elements of resilience, relief, and shelter, and to address the humanitarian and service needs of the displaced, ensuring the preservation of their dignity and rights.

Sheikh listened to the interventions and observations of the attendees regarding the most prominent issues facing the governorate, including economic and service conditions, the reality of municipalities and local institutions, and the needs of citizens, in addition to the challenges facing the commercial sector and economic movement, and the repercussions of occupation measures on various aspects of life.
