Al-Habbash Discusses with the President of the Indonesian Mosque Council Enhancing Support for Palestine and Protecting Holy Sites

Jakarta - Afaq News - The Chief Justice of Palestine, the President's Advisor for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, discussed with the Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council and the President of the Indonesian Red Cross, Muhammad Yusuf Kalla, ways to enhance Indonesian support for the Palestinian people and expand cooperation in religious, humanitarian, and relief fields during their meeting in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

The meeting addressed the developments in Palestine, the assaults and violations faced by the Palestinian people, and the need to intensify efforts to aid the affected and strengthen their resilience, in addition to developing cooperation in the fields of advocacy, guidance, and joint religious work.

Al-Habbash emphasized the importance of the role played by Indonesian religious and humanitarian institutions in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause, stressing the need to expand partnerships and coordinate efforts to meet the increasing humanitarian and relief needs in Palestine.

Al-Habbash underscored the centrality of the issue of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the necessity of continuing efforts to protect Islamic sanctities in the face of the systematic assaults perpetrated by the occupation government and settlers.

He affirmed the responsibility of mosque preachers in the Islamic world to raise awareness about the issue of Jerusalem, to inform about the violations faced by its sanctities, and to mobilize support for the resilience of its people.

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, participated in the meeting, emphasizing the necessity of continued Islamic and international support for the city of Jerusalem and its people, and backing their steadfastness in defending the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Indonesia, Abdul Fattah Al-Satari, and the Director General of the Court of Cassation, Hamza Da'na.

The meeting comes as part of the Palestinian delegation's visit to the Republic of Indonesia, aimed at strengthening relations with its leaders and religious and humanitarian institutions, and developing joint cooperation that serves the Palestinian people and supports their steadfastness and just cause.
