Britain intends to impose sanctions on companies working in the construction field in the E1 region

London - Ofoq News - British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband warned that companies and individuals participating in settlement construction projects in the occupied E1 area, located between Jerusalem and the Maale Adumim settlement, may face British sanctions.

He said that the continuation of construction work in the region constitutes a “direct threat to the chances of a two-state solution,” and Britain has introduced new legal mechanisms to impose sanctions on those involved in such projects.

“We call on companies and individuals to refrain from bidding for settlement construction projects in the E1 area. They should be aware of the legal consequences and potential damage to their reputation, including the risk of being involved in serious violations of international law,” he said.
