The United Arab Emirates, in a statement by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, condemned the attacks launched by the Houthis in Yemen, on the Abha and King Khalid International Airports in Saudi Arabia, according to what was reported by the Emirati “WAM” news agency. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “The United Arab Emirates condemned in the strongest terms the attacks launched by the Houthi group on Abha and King Khalid International Airports in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which caused the death of three people of Moroccan, Algerian and Sudanese nationalities and the injury of dozens of civilians.”
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that these attacks represent a “flagrant violation” of the sovereignty of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a threat to its security and stability. The UAE Foreign Ministry affirmed "the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its support in everything that will preserve its security and stability."
The UAE also expressed its solidarity, sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured. The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia revealed in a statement, on Wednesday, the death toll from the targeting of Abha and King Khalid airports on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The authority said: “The blatant attack on Abha International Airport resulted in two deaths of two residents of Moroccan and Algerian nationalities - may God have mercy on them - and (28) injuries to two citizens and two residents of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationalities. And a resident of Pakistani nationality, whose injuries ranged from minor to severe.” On Wednesday, the UAE condemned the attacks launched by the Iranian-backed Yemeni Houthi group against Saudi Arabia, and the targeting of the Kingdom’s ships in the Red Sea.
