Under the Eyes of the Occupation Army.. Settlers Burn a Palestinian Family's Home in Nablus

Nablus Afaq News - Under the watchful eyes of the occupation army, settlers continue their crimes against Palestinians, as they set fire to the home of the Tubasi family in the village of Jaloud south of Nablus on Monday evening, after the family was forced to leave their home last July, following months of harassment and repeated assaults by settlers.

The head of the Jaloud village council, Raed Haj, stated that 100 settlers attacked two homes belonging to the Tubasi family in the Al-Zahr area southeast of the town, after the family was forcibly evacuated from them about two months ago, and they set them on fire, causing significant damage.

He added that the settlers also burned a vehicle belonging to citizen Mahmoud Tubasi, after the family was informed of their return to the homes, based on a decision from the Israeli Supreme Court, but the presence of settlers in the area led to the family being evacuated again.

Haj Mohammed explained that the settlers attacked several citizens' homes with stones, leading to clashes in the area, and the assaults reached the outskirts of the neighboring town of Qaryut, where settlers assaulted an elderly woman and attempted to set her house on fire.

The burning of the house came after the occupation army attempted to assist the family in returning to it, while groups of hill youth called for preventing their return.

The head of the family, Mahmoud, said: "We were besieged in our home for almost three months, and in the end, they expelled us."

He described how the harassment began in early April, targeting two neighboring houses built by family members themselves.

Mahmoud Tubasi told Yedioth Ahronoth that settlers burned the doors of the houses, threw stones at them, set up a tent next to them, demolished part of the house, burned a storage room, cut off water and electricity, and blocked the road leading to the village.

He added that the family left on July 22 after exhausting their ability to endure, noting that settlers attempted to storm the houses after they left, but soldiers prevented them, while the family fears their return as soon as the army withdraws.
