The Egyptian capital witnessed a tragic incident that sparked a state of shock, after a hospital in the Matareya area in Cairo found the body of a five-year-old child with disabilities, lying inside the outpatient clinics corridor, with traces of various bruises and abrasions on his body.

Immediately after the Matareya Police Department received a report from the hospital administration about the incident, the security services of the Ministry of Interior intensified their investigations and gathered information to uncover the mystery of the incident and determine the identity of those involved.

The Ministry of Interior said in an official statement that security investigations succeeded in identifying the perpetrators of the incident, and it was found that they were a housewife and her husband, who had criminal information, and resided in the Shubra Al-Kheima Second Police Department in Qalyubia Governorate.

She continued that after legalizing the procedures, the forces were able to arrest them, and when they confronted them, they revealed the details, as the housewife admitted that the deceased child was her friend’s son, and that his mother had borrowed a sum of money from her and left her child with her as security until the amount was arranged and paid.

The accused admitted in her statements that the child had fallen from a high place. She also admitted to beating him because he deliberately shouted repeatedly, which led to the deterioration of his health.

The accused explained that she and her husband took the child to the hospital, and they left him inside the outpatient clinics corridor and fled, believing that he was still alive and that the hospital administration would treat him and search for his family after that.

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed that, upon questioning the child’s mother, she confirmed what was stated in the accused’s statements, noting that her husband died more than a year ago, and that she was forced to leave her child with her friend a week ago until the financial loan she obtained from her was repaid.

All necessary legal measures were taken, and the accused were referred to the Public Prosecution, which undertook the investigation.
