Fire in a gas line between Al-Shoula and Deir ez-Zor, and Syrian firefighting teams continue to extinguish it

A fire broke out this evening, Monday, in a gas line between the Shula area and Deir ez-Zor due to the explosion of a sectional valve in the line as a result of sabotage.

Hisham Al-Saleh, the gas sector official at the Syrian Petroleum Company, explained to the Syrian News Agency that the fire led to the cessation of gas flow from the Al-Jabsa plant towards the generation stations.

Al-Saleh confirmed that firefighting teams immediately began isolating the area before and after the fire zone, noting that the teams are continuing their work to complete the extinguishing process as the gas pressure in the area decreases.

It is worth mentioning that the area extending between Shula and Deir ez-Zor includes facilities and lines related to the transportation and production of gas.
