EU Countries Approve 5 Major Defense Projects Across the Continent

On Monday, EU member states approved plans for five comprehensive defense projects on the continent covering air, maritime, and aerial defense measures, including drones, to become eligible for funding from the Union.

The European Council stated in a statement announcing the approval of these projects that "European defense projects of common interest" allow European countries to cooperate on major defense initiatives that may be too large for a single member state to handle or too complex to develop alone.
