Head of the Joint Arab List: We will provide a safety net for any government that replaces Netanyahu

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - 17 days before the Knesset elections, the head of the Joint List, Yousef Jabareen, officially announced on Saturday evening, for the first time, that the Joint List is ready to provide a “safety net” for any government that replaces Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and even negotiate to achieve this.

He said in a video clip he posted: “According to all data, it is not possible to form an alternative government to the government of Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich without negotiating with the Joint List.”

“We do not offer a blank cheque,” ​​Jabareen explained. “Rather, we welcome anyone who wants to support us to negotiate with us about our community’s demands.”

In his speech, Jabareen presented the Joint List’s vision and strategy ahead of the elections. This statement is considered, for the first time, an announcement by the list of its readiness to study political cooperation that would contribute to changing the government.

“We are living in perhaps the most dangerous period in the history of our people,” he said at the beginning of his speech, “of fascism, racism, ongoing harm, and unprecedented escalation, under a government that is not satisfied with the blood of our people, which is harming us here in all areas of our lives, and is pushing this country and the entire region into the abyss.”

Jabareen pointed out, saying: “Therefore, these elections are not ordinary elections, but rather they are crucial elections for our future here, in our country, which we have no other.”

He added: "The Joint List today is the broadest possible unity within the ranks of our society, between the various parties and movements, for a common goal. When we unite, we are stronger and more influential, and our weight is greater. In such a situation, no one can ignore us, and we can overthrow this government and impose our conditions on any political formation that will be established after the elections."
