The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday that its forces targeted a warehouse complex in the Ukrainian city of Poltava, which was used to store drones belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This comes hours before US envoy Steve Witkoff meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.

The statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry said: “The strike resulted in the targeting of... a warehouse complex in the city of Poltava, which was used to store long- and medium-range drones.”

The Ministry of Defense said that its drones targeted a cargo ship that was transporting military cargo to Ukraine on its way to the port of Odessa.

The ministry also stated that its forces bombed an electrical power substation that supplies energy to the Ukrainian defense and industrial sectors, as well as logistics centers in Kiev.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday that the talks held by US envoy Steve Witkopf with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday in Oslo were “positive,” noting that Witkopf is now on his way to meet officials in Russia.
