Newspaper: "Despite the Recommendation for Protection.. The Shabak is Not Currently Securing Eizenkot"

Tel Aviv - Ofaq News - Israeli sources reported that the Israeli Security Agency "Shabak" does not intend at this stage to provide direct security protection for Gadi Eisenkot, head of the "Yashar" party and candidate for prime minister, despite the recommendation from the specialized advisory committee for securing personalities to protect him until the elections.

According to what the "Yashar" party was informed today, Shabak has notified the party that there is currently no intention to take on direct protection for Eisenkot, despite previous reports discussing the possibility of a decision to provide him with official protection.

These developments come amid discussions within Israeli security agencies regarding the level of protection that should be provided to Eisenkot, in light of reports of threats against him. Shabak chief David Zini had previously decided not to allocate direct security for Eisenkot, considering that determining the level of protection is within the agency's authority.

In contrast, the advisory committee concerned with protecting personalities recommended providing official security for Eisenkot until the elections, which has kept the issue in dispute between the recommendation issued by the committee and Shabak's current decision.
