Military operations against the Houthi militia continue in several Yemeni regions today, Thursday, with reports of raids targeting sites, camps and barracks belonging to the militia in the governorates of Ibb, Al-Bayda, Sanaa and Hodeidah, coinciding with the continuation of ground operations by government forces on a number of fronts.

Eyewitnesses reported that raids targeted a Houthi camp in Yarim, northeast of Ibb Governorate, while an Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath correspondent confirmed that other raids targeted militia sites in the mountain range in the Mukayras area of Al-Bayda Governorate.

In Sanaa Governorate, field sources reported that a Houthi camp in Bani Matar was targeted. Sources from Hodeidah also confirmed that raids targeted barracks belonging to the militia, coinciding with the sound of explosions being heard near Hodeidah Airport.

The raids come in conjunction with the continuation of military operations by government forces on several axes, within the framework of the “Yemen Dawn” operation launched by the government to reclaim areas under Houthi control.

During the past few days, government forces announced the targeting of Houthi sites, weapons stores, and military vehicles in the Ma’rib and Al-Jawf governorates, in conjunction with ground operations on the western coast and the Taiz fronts.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the implementation of 2,103 targeting operations against Houthi targets since the start of the operation, and said that the operations resulted in the neutralization of 1,860 militia members and the destruction of hundreds of military equipment and sites, according to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

On the field, government forces announced tightening their control over the Kahboub mountainous front overlooking Bab al-Mandab, in their latest advance in the military operation against the Houthis.

Kahboub gains military importance because of its location overlooking Bab al-Mandab, while the progress there comes after government forces took control of areas around Dhubab and Bab al-Mandab, and advanced towards the city of Mokha on the western coast.

The operations during the past days included the city of Mokha and its surroundings, where government forces announced control of the city after battles with the Houthis, coinciding with advances on other axes in Taiz Governorate.

Government forces also announced operations in the mountainous areas south of Taiz, at a time when air strikes continued on Houthi positions, reflecting the expansion of the scope of operations from the western coast to the internal fronts.

The developments in Taiz were accompanied by the continuation of operations in Marib and Al-Jawf, where raids targeted military sites, weapons stores, and vehicles belonging to the Houthis.

The expansion of operations indicates that they have moved between multiple geographical axes, from the West Coast and Bab al-Mandab to Taiz, Ma’rib, Al-Jawf, Ibb, and Al-Bayda, while government forces continue to announce the targeting of Houthi military sites and capabilities.

The Bab al-Mandab region is of particular importance in operations, given its location on one of the most important global sea lanes, while the western coast represents a major axis in the confrontation between government forces and the Houthis.

It is noteworthy that Operation “Yemen Dawn” began on Monday, October 5, following the announcement by the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, of the launch of a large-scale military operation to restore state institutions and end Houthi control, according to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

Since the first hours of the operation, government forces moved on several axes, and the first attack focused on the western coast and the vicinity of Bab al-Mandab. The forces announced control of Dhubab and Bab al-Mandab and advance towards Mokha, in conjunction with the participation of the National Shield Forces, the Giants Brigades, the Tihami Resistance, and the Popular Resistance in the operations.

Thus, the operation enters its fourth day with the expansion of the confrontations, at a time when the Yemeni government says that its goal goes beyond restoring field sites to restoring state institutions and ending the Houthis’ control over the areas under their control, while military operations and raids on militia sites continue in several governorates.
