Air raids were renewed as part of Operation “Yemen Dawn” on sites belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen, at dawn on Friday, targeting areas in the Saada and Sanaa governorates, amid reports of explosions in Amran, a day after a series of raids described as the most violent, targeting military sites and gatherings in several governorates.

Military sources reported that warplanes launched raids on areas in the Kattaf and Al-Baqa District in Saada Governorate, the main stronghold of the Houthi group in northern Yemen.

The sources also spoke of other raids targeting sites in Sanaa, while explosions were heard in Amran Governorate, believed to be caused by air strikes targeting sites belonging to the Houthis. The toll of losses resulting from the new raids was not immediately clear.

The new escalation came after a day that witnessed a series of intense air strikes targeting Houthi gatherings and camps in Al-Bayda, Ibb, Ma’rib, and Al-Hudaydah governorates.

The strikes also targeted the group's military reinforcements that were on their way to the fighting fronts in Taiz Governorate and its countryside.

In parallel with the raids, Al Arabiya's envoy reported that the Houthi group had intensified the use of drones in the areas recently controlled by government forces on the western coast of Yemen.

The intensification of the use of drones comes in light of the continuing confrontations between government forces and the Houthis on several fronts, with the expansion of the scope of military operations within the “Yemen Dawn” operation.

In the latest official tally, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced, on Thursday evening, the implementation of 1,729 precise targeting operations against Houthi military sites and targets on various axes and fronts.

The official spokesman for the armed forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili, said that the operations resulted in the neutralization of 1,370 Houthi members, in addition to the destruction and damage of 300 military vehicles, vehicles, and equipment.

Al-Nuzaili explained, in a statement published by the Media Center of the Yemeni Armed Forces, that the targets included observation points, advanced command and control centers, weapons depots, supply sites, and military reinforcements.

He added that government forces used weapons that he described as “quality and modern” in carrying out some of these operations.

He stressed that the targeting comes as part of the ongoing “Yemen Dawn” operation against the group’s positions on various fronts.

The coincidence of air strikes with ground operations and the intensified use of drones reflects the expanding scope of military confrontations, especially in areas that have witnessed recent advances by government forces.

The governorates of Saada, Sanaa, and Amran, along with the Taiz and Western Coast fronts, remain among the most prominent areas witnessing military movements in the current escalation.

The developments come at a time when government forces continue their operations within the “Yemen Dawn” group, while the Houthi group seeks to confront its advance, amid continuing raids on military sites in several governorates.
