In wars as well... when you don't know who is the perpetrator, look for the beneficiary

This title is part of a phrase by the famous political scientist (Machiavelli): Through this title, many of the results we obtain today regarding the Yemeni crisis can be explained and how the Houthis and those who support them at all regional and international levels seek to benefit from the events. Especially the Iranian-American war, the Houthis are trying to force the regional parties supporting the legitimate government to abandon legitimacy to open the way for the Houthis to monopolize Yemen and turn it into a station for crises. For this reason, this group seeks to attack Saudi Arabia permanently and send missiles and drones. Including striking airports and civilian sites.

This Houthi behavior poses a great danger to the entire region. There are those who push the Yemeni situation and the Yemeni people to be part of a regional and international power balance equation that cannot be proven. What the Yemeni people are suffering from hunger and poverty because of the Houthis cannot be overcome by directing side political calculations and pushing them towards a battle that will cost the Yemeni person who is trying to regain his homeland from a group that the world classifies as a terrorist group. In fact, there is no specific party that stands behind this equation by being the main supporter of this group ideologically. Militaryly and politically, because there are those who want to strengthen the Houthis’ ambitions in order to destabilize it, not only in Yemen. But in the entire region.

The political balance equation in the region is being pushed towards Yemen through direct investment in the existing Yemeni crisis. There are major attempts by regional beneficiaries who want to monitor the military scene in Yemen, not in order to end the crisis; Rather, the idea is that they are waiting for the war to get out of control regionally and internationally, and therefore the military situation of the war and its developments reflect how specific countries seek to benefit from this war, and these levels can be discussed through three trends that support this idea:

The first trend: It is the most important, and is represented by forces seeking to develop the Houthi force by providing it with money, equipment, and experts over the past decade, which actually contributed to the multiplication of Houthi fighters to large numbers. These forces do not have any strategic goal that can serve them in Yemen other than harassing Saudi Arabia on an ideological path more than others. They also see their support for the Houthis as a factor of great pressure on America and even on Israel.

The second trend: Regional countries have a desire to play roles greater than their strategic capabilities by practicing short-term tactical policies, while they do not realize that the strategic dimension of their intervention in Yemen may cost them a lot in the future. Especially since Yemen is a complex and volatile country in its composition. Yemen, and throughout its history, has proven that it is capable of rapid rotation and reproducing the same problems for many years. Therefore, it can be said that the Yemeni political experience has proven that any of the countries of the region that tries to extend their hand to contribute to changing the course of the Yemeni crisis will find themselves in the end in an open confrontation with the countries of the region. The political transformation is rapid in Yemen and is able to turn the tables more quickly. Just as the Houthis seized Sanaa within days, it is not unlikely that Sanaa will be restored soon and within days. Not by a regional power or by war alone; But because of the ability of this country and its people to recycle its political product for reasons that may be easy, as proven by the history of this country, here the countries of the region that believe they can benefit from this crisis must read history before going to confused interpretations of their position on the Yemeni crisis.

The third trend: It is the most dangerous at the international level. The Yemeni situation has turned into a direct space for competition between major international poles seeking to exert mutual pressure between them. This is what pushed major countries in the world - without naming them - towards exploiting the Yemeni situation and turning it into an arena through which a different equation can be built for the existing international balance. And here lies the danger. Not only on the region, but also on the entire world, where international responsibility is expanding. Turning Yemen into a battleground between regional and international powers is costly. In the end, the results will be disastrous, and its political, military, and economic consequences cannot be avoided.
