Before and after.. The US Treasury Secretary publishes a video of the Iranian island of Khark

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent considered that Iran's Khark Island, which includes a major oil export terminal, was now devoid of crude oil tankers, noting that it had become a "monument" to the failure of the Iranian regime.

Besant said, in a post on the “X” platform, reviewing a video of the situation before and after the developments: where he wrote, “Before: Oil tankers fill the main oil loading station in Iran. After: No trace of crude oil tankers.”

He also added that "the Iranian regime's arrogance and hostile approach continue to punish ordinary Iranians," noting that Operation "Economic Pariah" - an American economic campaign launched by the US Treasury Department on August 24, 2026, with the aim of isolating Iran economically and cutting off sources of funding for the Tehran regime - aims to cut off the oil artery from the regime and deprive it of the resources that enable it to finance terrorism, obtain the requirements for the nuclear program, and provide luxurious lifestyles for the elite of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

This comes as Washington continues to impose a tight noose on Iranian oil exports, as the main loading terminals have remained completely empty of oil tankers for several consecutive weeks, according to an analysis of ship tracking data and satellite images issued by the European Union and reported by Bloomberg.

Satellite images showed that no docking operations for crude oil tankers had been observed at the main export berths at the port of Khark Island since late last August, in the longest continuous cessation of shipping and export operations on the island since the outbreak of the military confrontation between the United States and Iran in February.

The port's emptiness also reflects the escalation of operational and economic pressures on Tehran, following Washington's tightening of its military blockade on Iranian shipping and shipping traffic about three months ago. This coincided with a decline in Iranian crude oil exports to zero during the current period, compared to about one million barrels per day last July, according to the data received.
