Shocking Revelation.. What is the Plan of Israeli Parties for the West Bank?

Tel Aviv - Afaq News - About a month before the Israeli elections, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed the positions of the competing parties regarding the Palestinian conflict and the future of the West Bank, including issues of settlement, sovereignty, and the possibility of evacuating settlements as part of any future political agreement.

The positions of most Israeli parties indicate that settlement in the West Bank is no longer a clear point of contention between the right and large parts of the center, as many political forces converge in supporting the continuation and enhancement of settlement, and rejecting the evacuation of settlements as part of any future settlement, although they differ on the level of Israeli sovereignty and mechanisms for dealing with what are called illegal settlement outposts.

The paradox is particularly evident in the position of the 'Yeshara!' party led by Gadi Eisenkot, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli army and former Minister of Defense, as the party does not present a clear break in its approach to settlement in the West Bank from the right's trends; it supports the enhancement of settlement blocs and the establishment of new settlements legally, and does not propose a plan for evacuating settlements as part of a future political settlement, while leaving the issue of illegal outposts to be examined according to law and security considerations.

Yeshara Party's Plan Led by 'Eisenkot'

The party stated: 'The party supports the enhancement of settlement blocs and the establishment of new settlements legally, in accordance with Israel's national interests and the recommendations of the security establishment.'

Evacuation as part of a future agreement: The Yisrael Beiteinu party says, "Establishing a Palestinian state is not on our agenda. We have no plan to evacuate settlements as part of a political settlement. The status of illegal outposts will be examined on a case-by-case basis, according to legal and security considerations.",

As well as promoting settlement and rejecting Palestinian construction in Area C, with the consideration of legalizing outposts on a case-by-case basis, and rejecting any path that leads to a bi-national state.

The party refused to participate and stated according to the newspaper that they "do not participate in surveys."

The "Otzma Yehudit" party led by Naftali Bennett

The party stated: "We support settlement wherever it is done legally. We oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state and the handing over of land."

He added, "Future evacuation as part of the arrangement: 'We oppose the evacuation of settlements that were built according to the law under any circumstances.'"

Sovereignty: "Bennett's plan of 2012 considers Area C a future sovereign part of the State of Israel. Of course, timing must be taken into account."

Palestinian construction in Area C: "Palestinian construction will be evacuated everywhere."

Regulating illegal outposts: "Everything on legal land must be regulated. Illegal construction on private land will be removed, whether in Tel Aviv or the West Bank."

Yisrael Beiteinu led by Lieberman.

The party stated: "Yisrael Beiteinu supports the enhancement of settlement in the West Bank, including encouraging construction in the E1 area. Decisions regarding the establishment of new settlements, their location, and scope should be based on security and planning considerations."

Evacuation as part of a future agreement: "After 33 years since the Oslo Accords, it has become clear that the attempt has failed. The Palestinian Authority has become a terrorist organization specializing in political terrorism, and therefore we must think carefully about how to cancel the Oslo Accords and dismantle the Palestinian Authority."

Sovereignty: "The party supports the application of Israeli sovereignty in Area C. The party has promoted bills to apply sovereignty in Ma'ale Adumim, Beitar Illit, and the Jordan Valley, while the government has obstructed these laws."

The Democrats led by Yair Golan: The party rejects the 'conflict management' policy and calls for a parallel political and security strategy to military action. It opposes the expansion of settlements and outposts, committing to evacuate illegal outposts, while supporting separation from the Palestinians within a regional settlement that ensures Israel's security.

The Jewish Power led by Ben Gvir: The party supports the establishment of new settlements and rejects the evacuation of settlements and outposts, calling for the full application of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, dismantling the Palestinian Authority, confronting Palestinian construction in Area C, along with encouraging what it calls 'voluntary immigration' from the West Bank and Gaza.

The Joint Arab List

Calls for the end of the occupation and the evacuation of all settlements, including those in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and rejects any Israeli sovereignty outside the Green Line, considering the settlements a violation of international law.

Palestinian construction in Area C: "It is not Israel's concern what Palestinians do in their lands."

Illegal outposts: "Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate. Additionally, those who established, managed, and funded these terrorist dens must be prosecuted."

Religious Zionism led by Smotrich

The party boasts about expanding settlement in the West Bank, announcing the organization of new settlements and the establishment of dozens of farms, as well as supporting settlement construction in the E1 area and providing tax incentives for settlers. It calls for the imposition of full Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and increasing the number of settlers, while continuing to prevent Palestinian construction in area (C).

Your people Israel: supports the expansion of settlements and the refusal to evacuate settlements, opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state, and calls for strengthening Israeli sovereignty and demolishing illegal Palestinian construction in area (C), while organizing settlement outposts according to the law.

The reservists and the economy: calls for the expansion of settlements and the appropriation of land for agricultural purposes, rejects the evacuation of settlements, supports the imposition of sovereignty over strategic areas, and tightens measures to demolish Palestinian construction in area (C).

The United List led by Mansour Abbas: supports the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, rejects the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, and opposes restrictions on Palestinian construction and development in area (C), provided that the issue of settlement outposts is addressed within a political agreement.
