Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Dolce & Gabbana is known to have dressed many music stars, such as Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera, but today it is looking to make dogs more stylish as well. The Italian brand recently launched a new fragrance for dogs, known as “Fifi,” named after the pet of the brand’s founder, Dominique Dolce.
The website describes this fragrance as “an aromatic masterpiece,” as it “features warm, bright ylang-ylang notes, a clean touch of musk, and creamy, woody sandalwood notes.” The perfume comes in a 100 milliliter bottle for $109.
The bottle itself is painted an elegant green, decorated with a vibrant red metal cap and a precious 24-carat gold-plated claw. A series of dogs appear in front of the camera in a promotional advertisement on the D&G website.
In parallel with classical music playing in the background, the narrator says: “I am delicate, attractive, authentic, sensitive, mysterious, rebellious, irresistible, and clean, because I am not just a dog, I am Fifi.” Among the instructions provided by the site regarding using “Fifi” are to “spray the perfume on the hands or on a special brush, and rub or comb the dog’s fur from the middle of the body towards the tail to give him a moment of pampering.”
D&G is among the new brands trying to cash in on dog money. Earlier, the British designer, Anya Hindmarsh, offered on her website a special small bag for carrying dog waste bags for $172.
Fashion-conscious dogs can also wear a Prada puffer jacket for $765 during the day, and lie down in a large Versace bed at night for $1,170.
