"Not a Place for Settling Scores".. Alaa Mubarak Publishes a Post about "Gloating in Death"

- Alaa Mubarak, the son of the late Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, published a post on Monday criticizing what he called "the gloating and joy in death" from some individuals, affirming that it is a trait that is morally and religiously unacceptable. Alaa Mubarak wrote in a post on his official account on the platform "X" (formerly Twitter): "Human feelings and people's reactions to death vary; death is a significant event that evokes diverse and contradictory reactions in the human soul."

The son of the former Egyptian president added: "Some pray for mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, while others, perhaps because they have been harmed or feel wronged, exhibit feelings of gloating and joy. Although I understand the psychological motivations behind these different feelings, we must rise above gloating and insulting the deceased, as it is a trait that is morally and religiously unacceptable."

Alaa Mubarak continued: "Death is not a place for settling scores or rejoicing and gloating; it is the end of a worldly journey and the beginning of standing before the Almighty, where each person is held accountable for their deeds; nothing escapes a person's record, whether in word or action, except that it is counted," as he expressed. He added: "Standing in reverence for death and respecting its majesty is not an endorsement of the actions of the deceased or forgetting a dispute with them or their words or their injustices, but rather it is a respect for the sanctity and awe of death and an acknowledgment of human weakness before the Creator, which calls for silence and reflection.

Some users on the platform "X" linked Alaa Mubarak's post to the announcement of the death of Counselor Ahmed El-Zend, the former Egyptian Minister of Justice, last Saturday.

The Board of Directors of the Judges Club of Egypt, headed by Counselor Mohamed Refaat Gaber, mourned on Saturday the late Counselor Ahmed El-Zend, the former head of the Judges Club of Egypt and former Minister of Justice, following the announcement of his death after suffering from illness. Alaa Mubarak had responded to a post from a news page on social media that called for prayers for the famous media figure Ahmed Moussa, who recently suffered a health setback.

Alaa Mubarak wrote through his official account on the "X" platform: "O Allah, heal him and grant him wellness, O Allah, heal and grant wellness to every sick person who suffers and knows their weakness only You, Glory be to You."
