In a report published by the British “The Sun” on Wednesday, the supercomputer revealed its exciting predictions for the winner of the Ballon d’Or, as it placed English star Harry Kane at the top of the candidates to win the 2026 edition, with a odds ratio of 58%, far superior to his rivals Lamine Yamal (18%) and Kylian Mbappe.
Kane's nomination comes after an exceptional season during which he scored 61 goals with Bayern Munich, and 73 goals in total for club and national team, leading the Bavarian team to the coronation.
The 70th Golden Ball ceremony is scheduled to be held for the first time in London next Monday at the London Palladium, presented by duo Thierry Henry and Kate Scott, after Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé won the last edition.
The supercomputer not only predicted this year's champion, but also forecast the future of the award for the next ten years, and its predictions were as follows:
2026- Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) 2027- Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 2028- Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) 2029- Michael Oliseh (Bayern Munich) 2030- Erling Haaland (Manchester City) 2031- Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 2032- Andrek (Real Madrid) 2033- Pau Kuparsi (Barcelona) 2034- Arda Guler (Real Madrid) 2035- Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) 2036- Estevao (Chelsea)
According to expectations, Yamal will dominate the award with three titles by 2036.
Despite the decline in his chances this year according to the numbers, Yamal sees himself as more deserving of it, saying: “I think I deserve it this year, because of what I won. To whom will I give it? To the best player in the world.”
