Tragedy of a Family in Egypt: Fire Claims the Lives of a Mother and Her Three Children

In minutes, the morning of a family on Al-Arish Street in Giza Governorate turned into a tragedy, after a fire broke out inside their apartment, resulting in the death of the mother and her three children, while the father and another child survived after desperate attempts to save the family from the flames.

Local media reported that the father, who works as a building guard, was outside his apartment with one of his children this morning when he was surprised by smoke and flames coming from his apartment, prompting him to rush to save his wife and children.

The father entered the house amidst the flames, carrying one of the children, but was injured while exiting. He went back in again and brought blankets to help extinguish the fire, but his attempts were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the cries of the neighbors and residents rose upon learning that the woman and her children were inside amidst the flames, while civil defense forces rushed to the scene of the fire and succeeded in extinguishing the flames. Upon entering the apartment, they found the mother and her three children dead due to the fire.

According to eyewitnesses, the father was in a state of shock due to the enormity of the tragedy, as they confirmed his screams, unable to believe that he lost his wife and children in just a few minutes.

The neighbors also confirmed to local newspapers that the eldest daughter among the victims was preparing for her wedding soon, which intensified the tragedy's impact on all family members.

Later, the Public Prosecution moved to the fire site to conduct an inspection and determine its causes and circumstances, while the initial inspection indicated that the fire started due to an electrical short circuit in the washing machine.

The relevant authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the fire to determine its final causes and take legal action.
