An Israeli security source denies Netanyahu's meeting with Haftar's Chief of Staff in the UAE

Tel Aviv - Afaq News - An Israeli security source denied reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with Khalifa Haftar, the Chief of Staff of the forces affiliated with the General Command in eastern Libya, during his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The source stated, according to an Israeli newspaper, that Netanyahu only met with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, noting that the presence of aircraft belonging to officials from other countries at Abu Dhabi airport does not mean that the Israeli Prime Minister held meetings with them.

A report from an Italian website sparked controversy in Israel after it mentioned the arrival of a plane linked to Haftar in the UAE coinciding with Netanyahu's arrival, which opened the door for speculation about a possible meeting between the two sides.

These reports come after Israeli sources confirmed that Netanyahu visited Abu Dhabi and met with Mohammed bin Zayed, while other reports indicated that the discussions during the meeting addressed regional and security issues, including Iran, the Houthi threat, and coordination in the region.
