Egypt.. Interior Ministry responds to post about prison inmates' hunger strike

- The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed the truth behind a post circulating on social media, claiming that inmates in a prison in the Minya governorate in Upper Egypt are on a hunger strike. The Ministry of Interior stated in a post via its account on the "X" platform, formerly Twitter, early Saturday morning: "A security source categorically denied the accuracy of what has been circulated by several pages affiliated with the terrorist Brotherhood abroad on social media, regarding the claim that a number of inmates in a rehabilitation center in Minya are on a hunger strike due to being subjected to violations."

The ministry added: "The source confirmed that these allegations are baseless." The source stated that what it described as "the systematic campaign and repeated falsehoods of the terrorist group come as part of their desperate attempts to gain advantages for their members inside rehabilitation centers outside legal frameworks, and legal actions are being taken against those promoting these allegations."

Recently, the Egyptian Ministry of Interior denied what it described as "allegations" promoted by pages affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood abroad, which included claims of a hunger strike by a number of inmates in a prison in the Minya governorate in Upper Egypt in protest against being subjected to violations.
