An Arab designer is always present in her closet. The Queen of Belgium celebrates the colors of fashion

The elegance of Queen Mathilde of Belgium, wife of King Philippe, is not limited to choosing designs for official occasions, but is also evident in her ability to employ and coordinate colors, from strong tones to calm colors, while maintaining a style that combines classicism and innovation. In recent days, her looks have varied between new designs and others she had previously worn, among which stood out a red look bearing the signature of Lebanese designer Elie Saab.

During the official dinner held on October 12, as part of her visit to Kazakhstan, the Queen of Belgium wore a long scarf from the Saab Fall/Winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection, over a bright red jumpsuit from the Belgian “Natan Couture” house. The house's designs are a recurring choice in Queen Mathilde's wardrobe, which she returns to on various occasions, coordinating her fashions with accessories from international brands, while diversifying her choices between colors and cuts.

The red look was not the only one that reflected the presence of strong colors in her choices, as the Queen of Belgium appeared earlier the same day in a red coat dress from the French house "Dior", which was distinguished by its wraparound cut and defined at the waist, its long sleeves, and its skirt that reached mid-calf. She coordinated it with gloves, a bag, and classic pointed-toe high-heeled shoes in brownish-beige, then added a wide-brimmed red hat decorated with a bow, in harmony with the color of the dress.

From red to pink, the Queen of Belgium switched the next day to a look from "Natan Couture" that she had previously worn, consisting of a long-sleeved silk shirt and an A-line skirt. She coordinated the look with a "La Prima" bag and light pink satin shoes from the Italian house "Giorgio Armani", along with earrings studded with diamonds and kunzite stones.

She also appeared during the same visit, with a design that combined purple and bronze colors, with a shiny fabric, consisting of a classic jacket with front buttons that reached the waist, and a skirt of the same cut whose length was slightly longer than the knees. She completed the look with a hair accessory made of the same fabric, with which she pulled her short hair back.

The presence of colors in Queen Mathilde's choices is not limited to major official occasions, but extends to her participation in various events. On October 8, during her visit to the 2026 Queen Mathilde Award winners, she wore a winter look consisting of a mustard yellow blouse and jacket, which she coordinated with classic navy blue pants, and large gold earrings from a Spanish brand.

The Queen's choice fell on red again during her participation in a conference dedicated to artificial intelligence, where she chose a scarlet red "Bella" dress from a Spanish fashion house, with a light pink "Se Dior" bag. This arrangement highlights her tendency to combine a strong color in the basic piece with accessories in calmer tones.

Saab was present again in Queen Mathilde's choices in a tweed jumpsuit, which she coordinated with a beige bag and shoes from the house of Dior, along with gold earrings. During her participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City last September, Queen Mathilde’s choices varied between colors and modern cuts. She wore a white shirt and a burgundy brocade skirt, and coordinated them with a small burgundy “Lady Dior” bag and leather shoes of the same color.

The next day, she chose a green set from the British house “Savia”, consisting of a top that partially exposes the shoulders with a defined waist and a “peplum” cut that falls over the hips, and wide-legged pants in the same color. She completed the look with classic light brown shoes, with a pointed toe and high heels, from the Italian house "Giorgio Armani".
