Muqtada al-Sadr and Saddam Hussein's daughter comment on the Karak attack in Jordan

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Shiite Sadrist movement in Iraq, commented on Friday evening the attack that targeted a church in the Karak Governorate in Jordan, leaving a number of dead and wounded. Al-Sadr said in a statement, “What happened in Jordan in terms of targeting places of worship for the Christian religion is considered a terrorist act by the arms of colonialism and arrogance, such as ISIS and its counterparts, who distort the reputation of religion, peace, and humanity.” Al-Sadr continued: “A call from the Holy City of Najaf to give precedence to wisdom, peace, and moderation..

Our condolences go out to our counterparts in humanity (Christians) and we wish them peace in the lands of Islam.” For her part, Raghad, the daughter of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, published a blog post on her page on the X platform (formerly Twitter) in which she said: “We condemn the cowardly terrorist crime that targeted innocent people inside a church in the city of Karak in southern Jordan...

May God have mercy on the victims and a speedy recovery for the injured.” The Jordanian Minister of the Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, had announced that the operation that took place in a church in the Karak Governorate was “terrorist,” while the Jordanian Director of Public Security confirmed that the death toll had reached 7 people, and 27 others were injured, in a press conference they held on Friday.
