The "Queen of Halloween" strikes again with an elaborate costume look at the 2024 party

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The most anticipated costume of the horror season has arrived, and the “Queen of Halloween” did not disappoint. Continuing the tradition of dressing up in elaborate costumes for the annual star-studded Halloween bash, Heidi Klum arrived at this year's party dressed as the alien character from the American sci-fi film "E.T.

In New York, the 51-year-old model appeared with her face protruding from the alien's neck beneath an animated head that blinked and moved its mouth. The former Victoria's Secret model completed her look with an oversized wig, a dress and lipstick, a reference to a scene in the 1982 film directed by Steven Spielberg, when Drew Barrymore's character, Gertie, dresses up as an alien.

Likewise, Klum's husband, Tom Kaulitz, also attended the party dressed as E.T., but without his wig. Speaking to the New York Times before the ceremony, Klum revealed that her glowing fingertips and the robotic headpiece, which weighs about 5 pounds (2.27 kg), were controlled remotely by a member of her team.

She also revealed her plans to wear adult diapers, due to the difficulty of removing the outfit during the concert, saying: "I'll probably never need to use it, but at least this way I won't have to think about it." Klum kept her fans guessing until the last minute, sharing close-up shots of the outfit on social media, and broadcasting her preparations live on Amazon Live earlier Thursday.

The model was joined by Mike Marino, the Hollywood prosthetics designer behind many of her most elaborate Halloween costumes. Marino described this year's design as "possibly the most complex ever."

Her face and body were completely plastered, he explained, and the costume took many months to build and design. “When I asked Mike if he could design this outfit for me, his initial answer was no,” Klum said via live broadcast, recalling that she “begged him over and over again” to change his mind.

The German model held her first annual party on October 31, 2000, seven years after she moved to the United States and fell in love with Halloween. Since then, it's become one of the most popular Halloween parties, thanks in part to Klum's imaginative costumes.

Recent years have seen her appear in costumes as a robot, a peacock, a werewolf, and as Princess Fiona from the film "Shrek", and perhaps her most famous appearance, as a giant earthworm in 2022. At this year's party, model Haley Khalil appeared as the Corpse Bride from Tim Burton's animated film "Corpse Bride", and the star of the American reality TV series "The Real Housewives of New York", Bethenny, arrived Frankel, in Wonder Woman form.
