Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to continue pursuing all those involved in the October 7, 2023 attacks, affirming that Israel still has several tasks ahead before completing what he described as its mission.
During an official ceremony to commemorate the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks, Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue to pursue those who participated in the attack and those who took hostages, adding that "everyone is living on borrowed time," and that Israel "will reach them" just as it reached others, according to the Times of Israel.
In the same context, Netanyahu confirmed that the Gaza Strip will not see Hamas rule, emphasizing that Israel intends to complete the tasks that remain ahead, adding that his country is working on "settling accounts" with Hamas elements involved in the attacks, and that this is happening daily, according to his statements.
In Lebanon, Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah, but at the same time indicated its desire to provide an opportunity for peace with Lebanon.
He added that Israel seeks to achieve this with a country whose vast majority of its population wants peace with it.
Netanyahu also addressed Iran, pledging that Israel would not allow it to threaten its existence, describing the Iranian regime as the "weakest" since its establishment. The Israeli Prime Minister added that the regime "is fighting for its life," expecting that it will ultimately "pass from the world."
According to Netanyahu, Iran had a three-part plan to destroy Israel, which included armed proxies around it aimed at "bleeding it dry," thousands of missiles capable of targeting Israeli lands and cities, in addition to nuclear bombs that he said were designed to destroy and erase the country.
He pointed out that Israeli forces, through joint fighting, have cut off Iran's armed arms and pushed Israel's enemies away from its borders to create buffer zones.
Finally, Netanyahu confirmed that Tel Aviv succeeded in targeting ballistic missile stockpiles inside Iran, as well as delivering strong strikes to its nuclear program, including scientists, sites, and infrastructure associated with it.
Netanyahu stated that Israel, prior to carrying out the operation against Iran, held a final meeting to review military plans, attended by the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, military leaders, and the heads of "Mossad" and "Shabak". He added that he emphasized during the meeting: "We cannot leave the handling of this existential threat to future generations, because if we do, there will be no future generations."
