Continuing settler attacks on olive pickers in several areas in the northern West Bank

Nablus - Ofoq News report - Several areas in the northern West Bank witnessed, for hours on Friday morning, continuous attacks by settlers targeting farmers and olive pickers, including beatings, pepper spraying, smashing vehicles, and burning dozens of perennial olive trees.

In the town of Deir Ballut, west of Salfit, settlers attacked farmers while they were on their lands, beating them, spraying pepper gas, and destroying their vehicles. The occupation army later intervened and forced the farmers to leave their lands and return to their homes.

In the town of Kafr al-Dik, west of Salfit, the young man, Diyaa Nazih Naji, was injured in the head after being beaten by settlers while he was picking olives on his land located west of the town.

In another attack, settlers set fire to dozens of perennial olive trees in the Wadi Al-Shaer area, east of Salfit, causing damage to the trees that constitute a source of livelihood for farmers and their families.

The towns of Yasuf, Sakaka, and Marada in Salfit Governorate also witnessed attacks by groups of settlers targeting olive pickers, amid continued attacks on farmers and their lands in the governorate.

In Nablus Governorate, settlers attacked olive pickers in the lands located between the towns of Deir Sharaf and Naqoura, northwest of the city, in the context of the continuing attacks targeting farmers during the olive harvest season.

These attacks come at a time when farmers are heading to their lands to harvest the olive crop, amid fears of continued attacks that threaten their safety and deprive them of access to their lands and harvest their crops.
