"Waed" for Prisoners: Ben Gvir's Threat to Prisoner Salama Inside His Cell is a Clear Declaration of Intent to Kill and Liquidate

Gaza - Afaq News - The Waed Association for Prisoners stated that the incursion of the Minister of National Security in the occupation government, Itamar Ben Gvir, into the cell of prisoner Hassan Salameh, and his direct threat to him with death and execution, represents a new scene of the fascism that controls the prisons of the Zionist occupation, and reveals that Palestinian prisoners are now facing an unprecedented level of official public incitement against their lives.

Waed confirmed that Ben Gvir's entry into the cell of a prisoner who has been shackled and isolated for many years, and addressing him in a language of killing and vindictiveness, cannot be treated as a fleeting media show, but is a clear political and security declaration that the occupation treats prisoners as targets for liquidation and revenge, not as prisoners with rights guaranteed by international laws.

Waed added that prisoner Hassan Salameh, who has been detained for nearly thirty years and has spent many years in solitary confinement, is today facing a direct threat from the head of the repression system inside the prisons, in a scene that confirms that the lives of prisoners have become threatened due to official incitement and policies of starvation, isolation, deprivation, and abuse.

The association considered that Ben Gvir's threat to kill prisoner Hassan Salameh does not target him alone, but carries a message of threat to all Palestinian prisoners inside the prisons, paving the way for more crimes against them, especially in light of the death penalty law and the ongoing incitement against the prisoner movement.

Waed emphasized that what happened inside Hassan Salameh's cell places the occupation government and prison forces fully responsible for his life and the lives of all prisoners, and puts international institutions before a real test, as silence over this public incitement means giving the green light for a new crime inside the prisons.

The Waad Association for Prisoners has called on the International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations, and international human rights organizations to intervene immediately to protect prisoner Hassan Salameh, visit isolated and ill prisoners, and stop turning prisons into arenas of threat, liquidation, and revenge.

Waad confirmed that the Palestinian prisoners, led by prisoner Hassan Salameh, will not be broken by Ben Gvir's threats or his fascist displays, and that these scenes will only strengthen our people's commitment to the issue of prisoners and their right to freedom and dignity.
