Gaza - Ofoq News - A number of notables, mukhtars, legal persons, representatives of Palestinian factions and neighborhood committees, along with teachers and representatives of various segments of society in Al-Bureij camp, agreed to take steps and executive measures to evacuate Abu Helu Al-Gharbiyya School during the coming period.
This came during a meeting held by these figures and representatives of the camp’s segments with the mayor of Bureij, Engineer Ayman Dweik, and in the presence of municipal council member Muhammad Al-Shafi’i, where mechanisms for implementing these steps were discussed to ensure the evacuation of the school and the transfer of the displaced people residing there to alternative places that were agreed upon, or are being agreed upon, in a way that preserves their human dignity and takes into account their difficult circumstances.
The attendees stressed the need to continue implementing the agreed-upon procedures in a spirit of responsibility and cooperation, ensuring that the evacuation process is completed in an orderly and peaceful manner, far from any problems or objections, while taking care to take into account the conditions of the displaced and provide them with appropriate alternatives.
The participants stressed the importance of uniting community and official efforts to make this step a success, through dialogue, understanding and cooperation among all concerned parties, in a way that serves the public interest and preserves the rights and dignity of the displaced.
This move comes within the framework of the efforts made to address the issue of schools housing the displaced in the Bureij camp, and for the return of face-to-face education for our male and female students within a healthy educational environment.
