Acting Iranian Defense Minister Majeed Ibn Al-Rida said on Saturday that the size and names of the American bombs do not change the equations, considering that it was Iran’s missile capabilities that imposed a new reality, in response to President Donald Trump’s statements regarding the possibility of using the largest bomb in the American arsenal known as the “Mother of All Bombs” against Iran.

Ibn Al-Rida wrote in a post on the “X” platform: “The names and sizes of the bombs do not matter! Your bombs will explode in other places: in your global standing, the American economy, and even your electoral accounts!”

He added: “It is our missile capability that changed the equations.”

The Iranian official's statements came after American media reports that the Trump administration is considering military plans that may include the use of the GBU-43/B bomb, known as the "Mother of All Bombs" (MOAB), to target Iranian military sites and facilities, in the event of a decision to resume military operations.

In an interview with the American "Newsmax" network, Trump said that "the mother of all bombs is not nuclear," describing it as "just a very huge bomb," likening its power to a small nuclear bomb, while stressing that Washington does not need to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

Trump said: “I will not use nuclear weapons, we do not need that,” adding that the United States possesses the largest nuclear power in the world. But he did not explicitly rule out the use of the “mother of all bombs,” nor did he confirm that he had issued an order to use it against Iran.

The bomb weighs about 9.8 tons, carries approximately 8.5 tons of explosive materials, and is considered one of the largest conventional bombs in the American arsenal. US forces used it for the first time in Afghanistan in 2017 against a tunnel network of ISIS Khorasan.
