To follow the Saudi Football Channel on WhatsApp from Ofoq News in Arabic, click here - The Asian Football Confederation revealed on its official website, on Sunday, that the match between Al-Nassr Club of Saudi Arabia and its counterpart Al-Wasl in the UAE has been postponed to a later date. The confrontation was scheduled to take place on the ground of Al-Awal Park Stadium in the city of Riyadh, next Monday evening, as part of the third round of the first round in the AFC Champions League for the Elite. The AFC said in its statement: “The new date for the match and its start time will be confirmed and announced at the appropriate time.” The Football Association in the Yellow Continent did not reveal the reason for postponing the match, but Saudi press reports stated that the reason was due to the Al-Wasl Club delegation not traveling to the city of Riyadh due to travel difficulties. It should be noted that the Saudi Professional League had postponed some of the competition’s matches to other dates, due to “circumstances beyond the control of the clubs.” The infrastructure, facilities and airports in Saudi Arabia have been targeted by the Yemeni Houthi group recently.
