Syrian authorities confirmed that there were no fatalities due to an explosion at an ammunition depot in one of the Syrian army sites in the al-Eis area of southern Aleppo countryside.

Aleppo Governor Izzam al-Gharib stated in a statement today, Monday, "There are no fatalities due to the explosion, while injuries were limited to minor cases."

Aleppo Governor Engineer Izzam al-Gharib: Dear citizens of Aleppo Governorate, after a worrying night experienced by our people in southern Aleppo, I assure you that there are no fatalities due to the explosion, while injuries were limited to minor cases, and emergency and ambulance teams are attending to the injured and providing them with the necessary care. He also added that since the early hours of the morning, teams from the Ministries of Defense and Emergency have been working at the site gradually and cautiously, due to the possibility of other risks or explosions, in order to ensure everyone's safety. He pointed out that a survey is being conducted of the nearby villages and residences and the surrounding area, to ensure the safety of the residents and to verify that there are no injuries, and to deal with any objects or remnants that may pose a danger.

The residents were urged to stay away from the site of the incident, to immediately report any strange or suspicious object, and not to touch or attempt to move it, leaving the handling to the specialized authorities. It was confirmed that field monitoring would continue until security measures were completed and residents were reassured.

Several explosions were heard in areas of the western and northern countryside of Aleppo amid heavy fire escalation.

The Syrian Civil Defense in the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management noted that a civilian was injured by shrapnel from the explosions, according to initial reports. Additionally, two civilians experienced temporary breathing difficulties, and one civilian was injured in a traffic accident while trying to distance himself from the area.

The Civil Defense also indicated that its teams evacuated three families from the vicinity of the site.

Meanwhile, the relevant authorities imposed a security cordon around the area, prohibiting traffic and approaching the site of the explosions.

The Syrian authorities announced a few days ago the death of 11 members of the army due to an explosion of unknown origin inside a military warehouse in the Ayash area west of Deir ez-Zor.

On September 9, 14 people were killed and 11 others were injured due to an explosion at a temporary weapons and war remnants storage site near Sarmada in Idlib, while 5 people were killed at the beginning of the same month due to an explosion of a vehicle loaded with ammunition in the same province.
