American embassies in the region warn of security escalation and flight cancellations

Washington - Ofoq News - American embassies in the Middle East, including the US Embassy in Jerusalem, issued a joint security alert calling on American citizens to be more cautious, in light of what they described as the “complexity of the security situation” in the region.

The US State Department warned of the possibility of a rapid escalation of the fighting, noting that the Houthis targeted vital infrastructure and civilian airports in Saudi Arabia.

It also warned that Iran and groups supported by it may target American interests, companies, and institutions in various regions around the world.

The alert indicated the possibility of travel disruptions, including flight cancellations or airspace closures, as well as additional traffic and mobility disruptions.
