Barghouti: The settlers carried out a brutal and complete crime in Abu Falah

Ramallah - Ofoq News - The Secretary-General of the National Initiative Movement, Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, said that the attack carried out by settlers this morning, in the village of Abu Falah, east of Ramallah, with the participation of the occupation army, constitutes a complete brutal crime.

Barghouti explained that the settlers brutally attacked the Palestinian olive pickers, launched continuous attacks with the aim of preventing them from picking their olives, and burned fruitful olive trees that the Palestinians had spent decades planting and nurturing. These trees represent for every Palestinian family a symbol of survival, rootedness in the homeland, and adherence to the land.

He added that the attacks were not limited to Palestinian farmers, but also affected foreign sympathizers, especially the brutal attack on the American Washington Post photographer Heidi Levin, in a scene that embodies the terrorist behavior of the colonists, to whom the occupation army provided protection and support, and even fired live bullets and gas bombs towards Palestinian farmers instead of directing them at the aggressing colonists.

Barghouti wondered: How long will the US administration, headed by Donald Trump, continue to remain silent regarding these crimes, even when they reach the point of brutally attacking American citizens and journalists? He stressed that the United States' continued silence regarding this crime will practically make it provide political cover for this dangerous settlement terrorism, which requires concerted Palestinian and international efforts to confront and stop it.

Barghouti stressed that the Palestinian people are facing a brutal terrorist war aimed at uprooting them from their homeland and imposing displacement and ethnic cleansing on them.

He stressed that what Abu Falah witnessed today, as witnessed by Turmus Aya, Al-Mughir, Burqa, Beita, and the villages of Nablus and Musafer Yatta, on the other hand, reflects the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their adherence to their land, saying that the occupiers, no matter how great their crimes and brutality, will not be able to force the Palestinian people to leave their homeland, or implement the ethnic cleansing project they seek, as happened in 1948.

Barghouti concluded by stressing that settlement terrorism will backfire on its owners, no matter how far the occupiers persist in their crimes and brutal practices.
