Jericho - Ofoq News - Bashar Al-Masry inspected the progress of construction and development work in the first phase of his latest project in the city of Jericho, which is considered the largest tourism and entertainment project of its kind in Palestine. It extends over an area of 220 dunums and includes a commercial strip with an area of 50 dunums and a main walkway 750 meters long surrounded by restaurants, shops, amusement parks, and family games.
Al-Masry expressed his happiness with the progress of work according to the specified timetable, appreciating the efforts of all workers and those in charge of the project. He said: “It is important that we continue implementing creative projects on the ground, especially in this difficult stage that our dear country is going through. We have invested $200 million in this project and are preparing to launch its first phase early next year. Our choice is always to move forward with work and construction despite all the obstacles and challenges.”
He added: "The importance of the project lies not only in its size, but in its ability to provide new stable and sustainable job opportunities that enable our youth to work and build their future on their land."
Al-Masry pointed out that the importance of the project lies in supporting domestic tourism and revitalizing the commercial and service sectors, by providing an integrated tourist and entertainment destination at reasonable prices, allowing Palestinian families to enjoy a distinctive experience and high-quality facilities and services, without the need to bear the expensive costs of travel and accommodation outside Palestine.
He stressed that the economic impact of the project will go beyond the borders of its facilities, as it will contribute to pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the local economic cycle, to the benefit of restaurants, stores, service providers, suppliers and other economic sectors.
