Bezhakian: "We Will Not Bow" and the War Was Imposed on Us.. What Did He Say About Trump and Iran's Neighbors?

- Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian confirmed on Wednesday Tehran's commitment to obtaining nuclear energy, while sending messages to U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the war with his country, emphasizing that it "will not kneel." Bezhakian stated in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly that his country needs to build its military capabilities because "a people unable to defend itself will be eaten in today's world," according to him.

Bezhakian affirmed that Iran does not seek hegemony "nor to achieve our security at the expense of others," explaining that "Iran's defenses were built so that no one thinks that targeting Iranian cities will go unanswered." He addressed world leaders: "The American president has described us as terrorists, while we have been victims of terrorism."

He pointed out that he came from "Iran, where our esteemed leader was assassinated without any legal justification or reason. (From Iran) where a school was indeed bombed; look at these children, they lost their lives under the weight of the bombs and weapons used by the United States and Israel." He continued: "They were innocent and committed no crimes."

Bezhakian stated that "nuclear energy is part of our progress... Iran does not accept that nuclear technology becomes the monopoly of a few countries; we will not kneel and will not give up our rightful claims, we will not acquire nuclear weapons, nor do we want restrictions on our nuclear energy."

Bezhakian noted that his country "does not view its neighbors as security competitors; we want to have strong neighbors. We do not seek to destabilize security in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz."

"We cannot allow some to enjoy the freedom of passage and achieve their interests through this waterway, while at the same time using it to launch aggression against us, destabilize our security, and prevent us from accessing our waterways." He continued: "They are preventing us from accessing our waterway, while continuing to supply other parties with missiles and lethal military technologies, which spreads insecurity across all the territories surrounding that waterway."

While Bezhakian stated that "peace in Iran will not come from the battlefield," he reiterated that "Iran will not yield; they imposed the war on us. We have repeatedly proven that we are not afraid of fighting; we defend Iran and our land." He concluded his speech by saying: "We will never yield or bow down; Mr. Trump must understand Iran, we are ready for diplomacy and negotiations without resorting to the language of force."
