Coalition: Houthis Targeted Electricity Station in Medina

Sana'a - Afaq News - The spokesman for the Coalition Forces to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that the Houthi group targeted the Taybah electricity distribution station in Medina with a drone early Tuesday, September 29.

Al-Maliki stated that the attack occurred at 5:11 AM, noting that the results of investigations and examination of the remains of the drone, along with operational reviews, proved, according to the Saudi narrative, the Houthis' involvement in planning and executing the attack.

He explained that the attack resulted in one of the electrical transformers going out of service, but it did not affect the electricity network in Medina.

According to the spokesman, the targeted 'Taybah' station is a civilian facility that provides electrical services, including services to the Prophet's Mosque. Al-Maliki accused the Houthis of continuing attempts to target Mecca and Medina, vowing to take measures to deter the group and protect the two holy mosques.

The Saudi announcement comes amid escalating confrontations and tensions related to the Houthis, while there has been no Houthi statement confirming the group's responsibility for the attack at the time of publishing this news.
