The Kingdom of Denmark strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom, including attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and threats to commercial shipping.

In this context, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løke Rasmussen said: “Denmark strongly condemns the Houthi attacks on several Saudi airports. Such attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be justified, and Denmark stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

For her part, the Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations, Ambassador Christina Lassen, expressed in a speech before the United Nations her deep concern about the intensity of the clashes across several combat fronts in Yemen and the aggravation of the humanitarian suffering it causes to the Yemeni people, holding the Houthis fully responsible for this escalation, and called on them to immediately stop all attacks.

Lassen said: “Iran’s long-standing support for the Houthis enables them to continue their attacks. This not only fuels the crisis and undermines efforts to achieve peace in Yemen, but also risks further destabilizing the region as a whole. In this context, more efforts must be made to effectively contain the Houthis’ destructive capabilities.”

She stressed the need to effectively limit illegal arms transfers and military support to the Houthis, expressing her aspiration to renew the sanctions expected next month, and to implement them more effectively.

Denmark added: “The Houthi practices have led to the inability of the United Nations to work and help the Yemenis who are in dire need of assistance in large parts of the country,” stressing the need for full compliance with international law, including international humanitarian law.

The Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations promised that the comprehensive political path under the auspices of the United Nations is the only sustainable solution to this conflict, calling on the Houthis to immediately stop their attacks, engage constructively, and alleviate the profound human suffering that has been inflicted on the Yemeni people for a period that has gone too long.
