Displaced People in Al-Bureij Protest Against Reduction of Food Rations by the World Food Program

Gaza - Afaq News - A number of displaced people and the poor in the Al-Bureij camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip protested in front of the food preparation point of the World Food Program, east of the railway yard, in rejection of the program's decision to reduce the food meals provided to displaced families.

The protesters raised cooking pots and beat on them to express their anger and protest after the World Food Program announced the reduction of the meal that a family receives daily to one meal every two days.

The protesters confirmed that the decision exacerbates their suffering, amid displacement, the destruction of their homes, the lack of sources of livelihood, the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, and the continuation of the war, demanding that the World Food Program retract its decision and restore daily meal provision, increase it, and improve it.

One of the protesters said that his family has no source of income and relies entirely on food assistance, questioning: How can a displaced family that has no daily sustenance face this situation with one meal every two days?

Meanwhile, one of the female protesters expressed her anger and sadness, confirming that the reduction of food means increased suffering for children and poor families, calling on humanitarian organizations to take responsibility and not leave the displaced and poor to face hunger alone.
